  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

THIS EVENT WAS RESCHEDULED FROM JUNE TO GIVE YOU TIME TO TAKE THE CRAM SESSION FOR YOUR TECHNICIAN'S LICENSE CLASS ON JUNE 9-10.

FPV & Amateur Radio for All!

If you want to learn about flying with first-person view (FPV) from an expert, and avoid wasting your time getting into this aspect of the hobby, this is your night.

SLSRC.org will be there...

Along with FPV, the St. Louis & Suburban Radio Club, SLSRC.org (yes it's a little confusing between our name and theirs!) will be in attendance to explain how to get your HAM license (a requirement for FPV) and how to join their club. We already have some members who are members of both.

Agenda (may change slightly):

FPV Overview / Primer

  • Components: cameras, transmitters, receivers, antennae
  • Autopilots and OSD
  • Frequencies: 900MHz, 1.2GHz, 1.3GHz, 2.3GHz, 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz
  • HAM Technician's license requirements
  • Viewers vs. Goggles.
  • Recommended view screens
  • Recommended goggles
  • Head-tracking
  • MOST important DOs and DON'Ts of FPV (e.g. always fly with a spotter at SLRCFA with line-of-sight, never fly above 400ft)
