Sadly, as of February 6 we learned that Stan King, our long-time SLRCFA president, has passed away. Stan was a ground-breaking RC pilot who flew even though he was a quadriplegic. While we don't have many details right now, we felt that it was important to get the word out. We will post information when we receive it here and on Facebook. Please keep the king family in mind and prayers.
This guide details all the steps required to build an FPV drone. I’ve built more quadcopters than I can remember(well, I probably could if I gave some more thought to it) but I remember how frustrating and difficult the first quad seemed.
This guide on building a quadcopter will take you all the way from basic soldering to fully assembling your quadcopter. It assumes you are a complete beginner, but you do know basic electronics(negative, positive, what voltage is), and you’re familiar with the parts of a quadcopter.
Has the weather been keeping you from flying? Just want something fun to do on a Friday night?
There is a solution close to home. Many SLRCFA members have been flying Friday nights 6-9pm indoors at the Central Baptist Church (601 N Central Ave, Eureka, MO 63025). All are welcome to fly for $5 a night, but must be a current AMA member. It’s a great way to brush up on your flying skills, not weather dependent, and Fun!!
