The November meeting will be an Open-House / Fiberglassing demonstration at Paul Appelbaum's home. Paul is the scratch-builder of the famous C-17 jet.
This should be something you can really sink your teeth into: Paul worked building composite experimental aircraft for many years, including a stint with Burt Rutan. We covet his skills, and now a few of them can get transferred to us...
The demo will consist of:- epoxy additives (micro balloons, cabosil, and cotton flock)- using correct fiber orientation- applying epoxy resin to fiberglass in between plastic to control resin content- bulkhead reinforcements- how to laminate a 90 degree outside corner without bridging- forming a custom fiberglass mounting cradle around a fuel tank- 3/4 ounce fiberglass techniques
